Privacy Policy

WiseLedger (“we”, “us”) is a personal finance app. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do — and don’t do — with it. This is written in plain language and isn’t a substitute for legal advice; if you need a formal review of this policy, please have one done before relying on it.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email and a hashed password when you register.
• The entries you add: transactions, accounts, budgets, goals, bills and ledger (borrow/lend) entries you create in the app. We don’t read your bank SMS, UPI apps or connect to your bank — you add these yourself.
• Waitlist signups: if you sign up for mobile app updates on this page, we store your email and, if present, which link or post sent you here (for example an Instagram post). We don’t collect your IP address or device details for this.
• Usage analytics (this page only): if you accept the cookie banner on this landing page, Google Analytics records anonymised visits (page views, general location, device type) to help us understand how people find WiseLedger. It does not run inside the logged-in app. You can decline it, and it won’t load. See “Cookies” below.

Why we collect it

To run your account, keep your data in sync across devices, respond to support requests, and — for the mobile app waitlist and analytics — to let you know when the mobile app launches and to understand how many people are interested in WiseLedger before launch.

Cookies

The app itself does not use tracking cookies. This landing page uses one cookie from Google Analytics, and only after you accept the consent banner. Rejecting, or not choosing, means the cookie is never set and no analytics script loads.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it for advertising. Our infrastructure providers (hosting and database) process data on our behalf to run the service. When our WiseAI feature launches, a third-party AI provider will process the data needed to answer your questions; we’ll update this policy with the details before that happens.

Where your data is hosted

WiseLedger runs on servers we manage. We don’t currently offer data residency guarantees for a specific region.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you’d like your data deleted, email us at hello@wiseledger.in and we’ll take care of it.

Children

WiseLedger isn’t intended for children under 18.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you can ask us what data we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@wiseledger.in.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if what we collect or do with it changes, and update the date at the top.
